Street Style - Forty Acres Fest

It’s tempting to slip on flip-flops, shorts, a tee and head outdoors with the Texas heat reaching unbearable! Planning an outfit isn’t as fun when you know by the end of the day you’ll want to shed those layers and tie up that hair you spent so long perfecting. However, this fashionista showed it’s easy to stay cool and trendy with a simple outfit and a touch of bohemian flare.

I spotted Sammo Clift amidst the casual-sport clad students at Forty Acres Fest, showing off her spring color embracement with teal colored nails and coral pencil skirt from Forever 21. The layered, rounded edges give the skirt a flirty appeal, and paired with a basic tank, make it a great way to dress cute for class but not be too dressy. Trading flats for flip-flops are also an easy, yet still comfortable way to ramp up your daily style. Not to mention they come in an array of styles, colors, patterns and require no more effort to put on than flip-flops!

My favorite part of this stylish festival goer’s look is the bohemian edge brought on by her leather fringe purse and side-braid hairstyle. I’ll admit, I’ve been waiting for the braid to come back in style since my elementary school days, and this season it’s the perfect solution for any occasion: whether it be an elegant updo or, in this case, the more eye-catching sister to the messy ponytail. The tan fringe handbag, that she picked up in Madrid, adds edge to this otherwise classic outfit. Fringe is also a popular boho trend this spring, whether it be on handbags, vests, skirts, or my favorite, moccasin style boots.
