Trend Report...What I'm Lovin

When deciding what would be my grand debut into the blogging world, I figured I'd start with something(s) I adore all the time. Luckily, for me, this season has new and exciting additions to two of my favorite things...collared button-downs and lipstick. Now the collared button down has been around for centuries, but a pearl snap, with a fading denim wash? This combines both my love for a good collar and the re-fascination with denim the fashion world has been experiencing the past couple of seasons. Just Cavalli is also in on my love, as seen with added ruffles and layering.

Now my second, and unfaltering love, is for lipstick, and this season orange is making a big splash on the beauty scene. Even the precious Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere can be seen sporting the delectable hue here:

As a make-up junkie (and I do mean junkie, I should probably be admitted somewhere...) I am absolutely taken with MAC Cosmetics, and if you haven't tried it yet, you are missing out. GO NOW! However, for a graduation present, I received a delightful giftcard to Sephora, so of course I went (in the words of Rachel Zoe) BAH-NAN-AS. I had tried on an exquisite color of orange lipstick at MAC this summer, but had to pull the reigns somewhere, so it didn't make the cut- at the time. So naturally, this was the fist thing I went looking for upon my entrance to Sephora.

I landed with Makeup Forever's Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick #40 aka obnoxiously amazing orange. I think it takes more confidence to wear it than red, because it's so unexpected, but I was more than ready to accept the challenge.

The result?

RAD. So many options on how to wear it. Matte, Shiny, Glossy, paired with just a plain cat eye (as I demonstrate here) or maybe what I like to call a nice "sunset effect" with pale pinks, yellows, and golds. Mmm, heavenly.

MAC has some great options as well. Morange is what I tried on, and it does not fail. It really is way more-orange. Hah. Oh man, when the bad puns start coming out it really is a sign I've been up too long.

Well, until next time, stay "classy and fabulous!" -cocochanel.

I styled my Forever 21 denim shirt with my Gap dark wash high waisted skinny jeans, MIA lace up boots, Forever 21 chain necklace and some sweet french braiding skills. Also, the ombre happens to be a happy coincidence from my sad empty wallet. Score.
